Beginning on the weekend of Divine Mercy, April 27-28, Mass times will be changed at St. Joseph Parish, Claremont, NH.  The Saturday Vigil Mass will be celebrated at 5:30 PM and the Sunday Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM. Although this change may seem difficult for some, please remember that the number of people who presently attend the three Masses on the weekend could be accommodated with only one Mass.

Advent Tree Project

As usual, St, Mary's parishioners were very generous in purchasing gifts for the Advent Tree project. About 350 clothing gifts were provided to the Kiwanis Club for distribution to needy children and adults in our area. Over $2200 was also donated and used to purchase the boots, snowpants and jackets that children needed. We are sure that Christmas was brighter for many families because of your generosity! If you have been blessed this year, please consider helping to provide Christmas gifts of clothing to our less fortunate neighbors. Please take one or more envelopes off the tree in the sanctuary. On Saturday, June 2nd, Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until 2:00 PM. We will pray a special Rosary for vocations and hear scripture and meditations on the important responsibility we all have to pray for vocations to the priesthood. Every parish in the diocese has been asked to set aside time the first weekend in June, which is the time of priestly ordinations for our diocese, for a special time of prayer for vocations to the priesthood in our diocese. The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Christian life, but without priests, there is no Eucharist!

This month's Ultreya is being held on Friday, November 17th at 7:00 pm at St Mary’s Annex Building (above the chapel).  This meeting will be held a week early due to Thanksgiving.  Sandi and Les St. Pierre are hosting the meeting and plan on having a marvelous 4th Day speaker. #ProtestPP Saturday

On Saturday, August 22, a group of 13 of us gathered for our monthly vigil across from Planned Parenthood clinic on Pleasant St. in Claremont.  Joining us for the first time was Charlotte Antal, a representative from NH Right To Life (NHRTL).  She wanted NHRTL to have a presence at our vigil just in case of a backlash from Planned Parenthood representatives in retaliation for this protest day across the nation. As it turned out, the vigil was uneventful and our prayer witness received general support from passersby.  NHRTL posted an article on their website about our group.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has called for a "Fortnight for Freedom."  This is a 14-day period of prayer, education, and action in support of religious freedom, from June 21 to July 4. This two-week period is a time when our liturgical calendar celebrates a series of great martyrs who remained faithful in the face of persecution by political power. This year, the theme of the Fortnight will focus on the “freedom to bear witness” to the truth of the Gospel.  Please set some time aside during this 14-day period to pray for our religious freedom.

Saint Mary’s is working to update Church records. We have a new system in place and require updated parish member information to transfer into it . Parish Census Questionnaire forms can be found at each entrance and on the back table in the Church.  We need ALL parishioners of Saint Mary’s to participate in the census.
