Beginning Wednesday, Aug 1st, at noon through Thursday, Aug. 2nd, the indulgence is available.  St. Francis of Assisi obtained this grace for all of us. It is called the “Portiuncula” Indulgence.  To receive the indulgence, begin by entering any parish church on the date above with the intention of penance. Reverently say the Creed and pray an Our Father.  Accompany this with: a disposition of heart to be free of attachment to all sin; receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation (within 8 days before or after Aug 2nd); receive Holy Communion; pray for the intentions of Pope Francis by saying (another) Our Father and the Creed plus a third prayer of your choice for our Holy Father, Pope Francis.
