We are in need of help in the following parish ministries. Please consider this a personal invitation to come forward and be of service to St. Mary Parish with the talents and skills we know God has generously given our parishioners!
Arts and Environment—This ministry encompasses overseeing the decoration of the church according to the liturgical calendar. Help is needed with the cleaning and ironing of the cloths on the altar, the changing of the banners, and flower arrangements for the sanctuary. The parish has a wonderful group of ladies who decorate the church for the larger feasts; however, help is needed for more frequent/weekly upkeep.
Lectors—God may be calling you to serve the parish through the reading of the Scriptures within the Holy Mass. Please prayerfully consider volunteering for whichever Mass you normally attend.
Funeral Mass Servers—Men are needed to serve at funeral Masses. Even if you do not serve on the altar at weekend Masses, please do consider being available to serve at funerals. These typically are scheduled for mornings, Sunday excluded.
Parish Office Volunteers—Answering the phone, greeting people as they come to the door, and light situational projects are a few areas in which we need help in the parish office. Volunteer hours are flexible.
Eucharistic Adoration—Each Thursday of the week and on First Friday of each month, our Eucharistic Lord is exposed for Adoration in the small chapel next to the main church. Adorers are needed for particular hours but you are welcome to commit to any hour during Eucharistic Adoration. Our Lord waits for you!
None of these ministries are time consuming or always needed each week for a single parishioner. Having many volunteers for many areas of service within the parish make it easier for everyone involved and much less a burden for the few faithful volunteers who consistently and generously serve the parish.
