From the Pastor's Desk

I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year!  Fr. Arockia and I thank you all for the many cards, gifts, well wishes and goodies that we received over this wonderful season of Christmas.  Your thoughtfulness and generosity are evidence that you love God and His Church and His ministers.  May you be blessed with His Choicest Blessings of nature and grace!

The new year is always a time of hope.  It is a time when we look with trust in God for what awaits us in the future.  We trust that the Father is always with us in all of the uncertainties of the future.  The new year is another time when we entrust ourselves and those we love to the tender and sure protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Mother.  May She govern and protect us always!

The new year is also a time of reflection.  I have been the pastor of St. Mary’s for 19 and one half years!  It has passed very quickly and we have all gone through many changes, hopefully, for our own good and spiritual growth.  I want to thank all of you for your love and dedication the Lord.  That love is shown in your love and goodness to me and to Fr. Arockia.

We have been through many difficult changes in the past couple of years, and I believe that it is our faith that has sustained us, coupled with our love for God and for one another. Change is at times unsettling, but with God’s grace we can endure and even flourish.

Today, I announce a new change.  I and Fr. Arockia are being transferred.  Effective March 1st, I will become the Pastor of St. Anne-St. Augustin Parish in Manchester and Fr. Arockia will become the Pastor of St. Joseph in Woodsville and St. Catherine Siena Parish in Lisbon.  I am filled with emotion as I write these words and I know that Fr. Arockia is as well.  God will see us through.

On March 1st, Fr. Sebastian Susairaj, HGN, of the same order as Fr. Arockia, will become the Pastor of St. Mary’s and of St. Joseph’s.  He is a gifted and fine priest who will lead this community closer to the Lord.  Love him as you love the Lord.

In particular I want to thank Fr. Arockia for his dedication to mission and his unwavering friendship and assistance to me since his arrival here four and a half years ago.  I could not have done it without him!

We have a couple of months to laugh, reminisce, cry, and give thanks to God for His great love for and through us!  God Bless and Keep you all!!!
